Day 7 of my Writing Challenge.
Because I Have A Blog People Assume…
Well, I can make this very brief. See, not very many people actually know I have a blog, aside from family and the few close friends I have. So I can make this entry about, what people who first meet me assume. Which is the question, so in a way, I’m on topic, right?
Okay, when I first meet and get to know people, especially men, they usually assume the following:
- I’m a complainer. Because bloggers complain…on their blogs. Not to other people. I’m not ruining your day with my complaining, but I air my grievances on MY blog. That’s what put the hole in the ozone layer.
- I blog about people. True. I’m a writer. I write.
- If they make me mad. I’m going to blog about them. This one isn’t too far from true, but I won’t do it if you make me mad. If something interesting happens, I’ll try to turn it into a story and leave out identifying details. Again, I’m a writer. I write.
- I blog about my/others relationship problems. Like my mother always says, nobody will be able to tell your business if you keep it to yourself.
- I’m a terrible gossip. I’m not. I actually don’t like gossiping about people, especially people I know. I’d much rather talk celebrity trash, but with care. They’re people too.
- I’m antisocial. This is not really true. I don’t have 101 places to be and go. I’m very focused on my work and I make time for blogging and writing because it is what I enjoy doing, not because I have nothing better to do. And besides, if I am being antisocial with a particular person/people, maybe its not me…
- I don’t have any friends in real life. Lies you tell. I don’t have a slew of friends because I value quality over quantity.
- I think I’m always right. I hate to say it, but this would probably be true whether I had a blog or not. I’m just saying.
Well, I believe that’s it. I can’t think of too many things people would say or think about me because I have a blog. My close friends and family know that I enjoy blogging/writing and that why I do it. I would probably be all of the above if I didnt blog or write, so just be thankful.
